With The New Victory Theater, the French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), and The Cultural Services of the French Embassy

Ricochet – Arts for All Ages! is a festival of French performances for young audiences and their families presented by The New Victory Theater alongside French Institute Alliance Française (FIAF), in collaboration with Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York. It features Compagnie X,Y, (New Circus), Compagnie Clan des Songes (Puppetry) and the artist Phia Menard (Juggler/performer). On the occasion of this festival, the Segal Center hosts afternoon and evening discussions with French and American artists, producers, and scholars. Additional panelists will be announced in March.

Afternoon Session:

2:30pm-3:30pm: Trends in French and American Theatre for Family Audiences
With director Isabelle Bertola (Théâtre de la Marionnette), Mary Rose Lloyd (The New Victory Theater) and Jonathan Schmidt (Associate Director of Education/Creative Content, The New Victory Theater).

4:00pm-5:00pm: Writing for Young Audiences, With playwright Marion Aubert, director Joël Pommerat, and producer Anne de Amézaga of (Compagnie Louis Brouillard). Moderated by playwright Charles Mee (Professor of Theatre Arts at Columbia University).

Evening Session:

6:30pm-7:30pm: Working in Both Worlds:
Knowing Your (Young) Audience
With Isabelle Bertola (Théâtre de la Marionnette), David Cote (Theatre critic and editor, Time Out New York), Max Dana (Producing Director, Immediate Medium), Marina Montefusco (Artistic Director, Clan des Songes), Hervé Billerit (Company Manager, Clan des Songes), Claudia Orenstein (Hunter College, CUNY), Suzanne Youngerman (Director of Education and Family Programs, BAM).
7:30pm-8:30pm: Nouveau Cirque
With Antoine Billaud (Compagnie XY) and Duncan Wall (Teacher, Circus History and Criticism at the National Circus School of Montreal).
